Kizingo Eco Lodge has a wonderful location on the secluded south western edge of Lamu Island in the Lamu Archipelago, just off the coast of Kenya.
This Lamu Island lodge is on the edge of a long sandy white beach overlooking the Indian Ocean. Lamu Island is one of the main islands in the Lamu Archipelago which is a tropical paradise situated just off the East African Coast.
Kizingo is wonderfully remote, facing the ocean and beside a river estuary. Access is incredibly easy, with a speedboat providing direct transfers from Manda Airport (90 minutes flight from Nairobi) that take about 30 minutes to get to the lodge.
Kizingo Eco Lodge is situated at one end of a spectacular 12-kilometre beach that stretches from Kizingo to the metropolitan oceanfront village of Shela. This is a secluded haven of dunes overlooking a pristine white sand beach.
Since there are no cars on Lamu Island, you must use a boat or a boda-boda (motorbike taxi) to get to Shela or Lamu town. Or for the fit guest, you can walk the 13 kilometres of dune-lined beach in blissful solitude, never coming across another person.
