Salt Lick Safari Lodge is situated in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in the Taita Hills on the edge of the Tsavo West National Park.
The Sanctuary forms an important wildlife corridor between the two national parks and is a major migration route for the 12 000 Elephant that live in the two national parks. The parks form one of the largest conservation areas on Earth and are home to the Big Five, namely Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a 30 minute flight from Mombasa and a 1 hour flight from Nairobi. The airstrip is located close to their sister lodge Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge which is just a short drive away.
The lodge is located just 8 kilometers (5 miles) outside of Voi Town. The lodge is 400 kilometers (248 miles) from Nairobi and 200 kilometers (124 miles) from Mombasa. The journey from Nairobi takes about 5 and a half hours and a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
