Guests staying at Voyager Ziwani Camp can go on a bush walk to the Sniper Tree, a huge Baobab. It takes its name from the legend of Mama Sukurani who hid in the tree and shot at British shoulders for having killed her husband during the British invasion of Tanga during the 1st World War 1.
Go on an excursion to Lake Challa which was formed through explosive eruptions thousands of years ago. The lake is fed by underground streams from waters from the melting glacier waters off Mount Kilimanjaro.
Discover the many species of birds that occur in the area. The landscape of the Tsavo West National Reserve has a varied topography and is home to a great diversity of birdlife. Commonly seen are the Golden breasted starlings to the Kenyan and Common Ostrich and the Somali Ostrich. The rare Hartlaub’s Bustard is also found in the national park.
Children staying at the Voyager Ziwani Camp can join the adventurer club. Led by a naturalist and Culturalist the kids will enjoy a number of fun educational activities that will introduce them to life in the bush.
